Be a Part...#PVSkype24
Have you ever wanted to learn about different cultures, global issues, and diverse people from all around the world? Students who participate in this Skypathon will be doing just that. We will be skyping for 24 hours straight to reach and learn from as many students, in as many different countries, as possible. During the skype we will be asking questions and sharing as well. Students/Classes who participate in the Skypathon will be answering these questions and then sharing the same in return. We will be skyping from 6 am EDT on April 14 to 6 am EDT on April 15. Each call will go for no more than 30-40 minutes. Follow our #pvskype24 and class on twitter @beverly_ladd during the skype. Below is the format for the skype: Your Students Will Share: 1. How do students at your school get health care, education, and access to clean water in your community or country? 2. What are the needs or wants of students in your school or local community? How can they be solved in a month from now, a year from now, or twenty years from now? (An example would be fundraiser to help cure diseases.) 3. Does your community or school receive support from any groups or individuals (i.e. school supplies, volunteers, financial support, etc.)? How does this make your community or school a better place. 4. What do students at your school do to help protect the Earth? What could students at your school to make a greater impact? 5. How can we positively take action and make decisions that support and nurture our environment and animals? 6. With the use of the Book Creator App your class can create a book entitled What Makes Us Special with stories, pictures, and information about what makes your class/school/country a special place, as well as information about your school, community, state and country. Some topics you may want to include are: *What type of community do you live in? *What tools do you use to learn with? *What does a typical school lunch look like at your school? Tell us about your climate. Include some pictures of your school and community? *Is there anything that students from other countries might like to see and experience but cannot without being there.
